I mentioned in my last blog post that I ripped out the builder grade vanity in my girls bathroom and am building a new base for the marble counter top I bought! I’ve created a couple design boards to visualize it a little better (mainly just for wall treatments). The light gray vanity in both design boards are not the design at all that I’m building, but I put it in there mainly just to show the color!
What I’m wanting to do:
- Build a custom vanity with lots of drawers! One side for Emma, the other side for Evvie. (There is a linen closet inside the bathroom so that is extra storage as well.)
- Light gray colored vanity to match the gray in the current tile.
- Brass/Gold hardware and accents.
- Wall Treatment (this is where I’m indecisive!).
- *Possibly* New Lighting.
Wall Treatments
Board and Batten VS. Vertical ShiplapI actually love both equally! The third option was to do an interesting tile wall, but to keep the costs down, I made two different design boards with the wood options to see it all laid out.
I am so into vertical shiplap lately and I think it’s such a clean look. The floor to ceiling board and batten is classic and would be so cute in their bathroom, and I’m actually leaning more towards this option.
Faucet & Hardware
I already have a few brass hardwares and accents in here so I’m definitely sticking with that metal. These are the top three brass wide spread faucets I chose:
| LEFT | MIDDLE | RIGHT |All of them are extremely reasonably priced, actually! I took a vote on instagram and majority voted for the middle… But I REALLY like the left faucet. I do love the hexagon shape of the majority voted for faucet instead of the standard sphere handles– so that’s a fun detail! I’m really into the right side faucet, simply because it was so different. I think whenever I renovate our master bathroom, I might use that if I don’t move the plumbing to the wall instead of the counter! I’ll have to save it for later.
Rejuvenation is one of my favorite places to shop for knobs and pulls. EVERYTHING is so pretty! (Honestly, everything on the website is to die for.) For the cabinet hardware, I don’t really want any “long bars” on the drawers. I’m going with more of a classic, yet minimal look so here are my top choices!

I can’t wait to finish this bathroom project and especially get the new vanity in there because I have some cute details planned for it!
