How I Built My Husband A Desk!
My husband, Tony, recently just got a new job which requires him to work from home! He has always worked really long hours, 6 days a week, literally since I’ve known him. We are so happy about this new chapter!!!!
He needed to have a office space all to himself, so I turned our basement guest room into that space for him!
Today, I am talking all about the desk that I built! Since we are going through the social distancing, I wasn’t able to go out and buy new furniture, order new furniture, or get materials to make something, so LUCKILY I had enough scrap wood in my workshop to throw something together and call it a desk.
My favorite details are the stained legs and leather strap drawer pulls! The cove trim gives it so much dimension and I love the trim work all around the desk.
For this build, I used the following:
Materials:
- 3/4″ MDF
- Wooden Bench Legs
- 1×2 primed mdf (or pine)
- 1×3 primed mdf (or pine)
- 1¼” Kreg pocket hole screws
- 1¼” 18g brad nails
- Leather Drawer pulls
- PAINT: Sherwin Williams – Cracked Pepper
- Polyurethane
- Paint brush
- 6″ Foam roller
- Clamps
Tools:
- Compound Miter Saw
- Table Saw
- Brad Nail Gun
- Kreg Pocket Hole Jig
- Circular Saw
